Reading a Good Book by Michael Duggan
"Then the shadows began to gather; first little furtive ones under the table, and then bolder ones in the dark paneled corners." - H.P. Lovecraft, "The Strange High House in The Mist"
An amorphous mist of heterogeneous countenance is a fun thing to draw, as I can say I had fun drawing this one.
At first, I was going to draw just the girl, reading a book by lamp light, but as I furthered my illustration I decided to give her a festering alien or demonic Thing sneaking up on her.
